Of Course AI is Reshaping Weddings.

A recent article from Vogue highlighted just how quickly AI is entering the wedding planning process.

According to a study from Zola:

56% of couples with 2026 wedding dates have already used AI while planning their wedding.

However, couples are still drawing clear boundaries when it comes to the emotional parts of the celebration.

63% say they would never use AI to write vows or speeches.

Where couples are actually using AI:

• answering wedding etiquette questions
• organizing budgets and checklists
• writing wedding website copy
• managing timelines and to-dos
• discovering local vendors

Vendors are also adopting AI quickly to streamline operations. Some planners report that AI tools can provide the equivalent productivity of several additional team members for tasks like research, drafting documents, and internal workflows.

One particularly interesting shift: couples are now asking tools like ChatGPT to recommend vendor teams, rather than relying only on Instagram or referrals.

Example prompts couples are using:

• “Best photographers in Lake Como for an editorial wedding”
• “Planners who specialize in multi-day destination weddings in the South of France”

The takeaway: AI is becoming another discovery channel for vendors, meaning strong websites, clear expertise, and structured information are becoming even more important for visibility.

Feature Story

Designed by a Wedding Planner for Planners

As AI tools become more integrated into the wedding planning process, I’ve been thinking a lot about what this shift means for the people actually running the events every weekend: the planners, venue managers, designers, and vendors behind the scenes.

While couples are increasingly using tools like ChatGPT to research vendors, organize timelines, and answer etiquette questions, the industry perspective is just as important. Technology can streamline parts of the process, but the creativity, relationships, and expertise that vendors bring to weddings are still what make the experience truly work.

As I continue building Ring Runner, I’m gathering feedback from wedding professionals to better understand where technology can actually support the work you’re doing.

I put together a quick survey to learn more about how vendors are using technology to plan a wedding and what would genuinely improve workflows, and what gaps still exist in the planning process.

Once responses come in, I’ll also share a summary of what wedding professionals across the industry are seeing and needing right now.
